CAPE VIDAL SNORKELING SAFARIS |
|
The
tranquil beauty of the underwater world is indescribable and to truly
experience all that this World Heritage Site has to offer, one should
take some time out to enjoy its truly unique underwater wonders on a
Cape Vidal snorkeling trip.
|
|
We offer snorkeling to various prime
destinations, all within the St Lucia Wetlands Park.
Cape Vidal is the nearest snorkeling reef to St. Lucia
and is perfect for beginner snorkelers and children as well as
snorkeling for the more experienced snorkeler. The world famous Sodwana
Bay is a popular option, boasting a stunning sandy beach, protected
reefs perfect for snorkeling and, rated as one of the
five best coral reef diving spots in the world, it promises outstanding
snorkeling. At Cape Vidal snorkeling is good all year
round, but is very tide dependent. Bhanga Nek, another of our
destinations, is part of the pristine Kosi Bay area and is situated in
the heart of Maputaland Turtle Sanctuary. Turtles are a common sighting
on snorkeling trips, with rays, fire fish and octopus as regular
features.

On our Cape Vidal snorkeling safari, CAPE VIDAL snorkeling is incorporated with a game drive, as our journey to get there takes us meandering through the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park. En route we stop and take a gentle walk up to the Mount Tabor view point where guests will be treated to outstanding views of the St. Lucia Lake and Estuary on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. We also take guests up to the Whale Watching tower at Cape Vidal, although this is mostly during the Whale watching season (June-Nov), it is optional out of season for guests who may be lucky enough to spot dolphins. |
|
|
|
We can also arrange SCUBA DIVING at Sodwana Bay for any guests who wish to take the plunge! |

WARNING At Cape Vidal snorkeling in the bay and swimming and snorkeling anywhere along the beach can be dangerous if you snorkel or swim at the incorrect tide. On a low tide at Cape Vidal snorkeling conditions are normally calm and safe. At Cape Vidal, snorkeling and swimming conditions are extremely dangerous at high tide!! and when the sea is rough. The low reef offers protection from the waves at low tide, resulting in safe snorkeling and swimming conditions. At high tide, rolling waves move over the rocky reef in front of Cape Vidal Bay, making conditions at Cape Vidal for snorkeling dangerous because of strong currents. If you are not planning on joining an organised Cape Vidal snorkeling excursion to Cape Vidal, please contact us for free advice about tidal times and information about Cape Vidal snorkeling conditions.
