Touring Africa

Touring Africa is about wildlife, untouched African landscapes and diversity in culture. While touring Africa, one sees landscapes varying from deserts to tropical rain forests, plains that stretch for as far as the eye can see, to mountains so high that they are permanently snow-capped, and palm beaches in paradise.

While touring Africa you can see wildlife big and small, including lions, elephants, rhino, giraffe, leopard, buffalo, hippos, crocodiles, zebra, wilebeest, birds and much more.

There are so many things you can do while touring Africa, including wildlife safaris, swimming with dolphins, turtle tours, scuba diving, snorkeling, white water rafting, game fishing, kayaking, boat cruises, scenic flights, to mention just a few.

Things to consider while touring Africa

Africa Touring Routes

Do you want to tour Africa overland, or fly from one destination to another, or combine flights and road travel. If you have more time for your tour, overland trips are realistic, but to see most in a shorter time, flying is recommended.

When Touring Africa Overland, Johannesburg and Durban are good departure points because of there proximity to fantastic wildlife parks including the Kruger National Park and the Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park. From there, different routes go to Mozambique, Swaziland, and Botswana and from there, into Namibia and Zambia. Using South Africa as a starting point for touring Africa is ideal because South Africa offers so much in the line of wildlife, activities and scenery. From South Africa, it is possible to tour to any destination throughout Africa with relative ease.

If your time is very limited, it is best to tour South Africa and the countries which lie along its northern border ie Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. See Africa map above.

Africa Touring - Best Wildlife Destinations

While touring Africa, there are wildlife destinations which you should incluce in your tour. These include the Kruger National Park, Okavango Delta, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park, St Lucia South Africa, Chobe, Victoria Falls, Etosha and the Kalahari.

For fantastic landscapes, a tour to Africa should include South Africa, Namibia, Swaziland and Northern Zimbabwe.
