CAPE VIDAL

Our closest snorkeling destination with fantastic, safe snorkeling, and a popular whale viewing spot. The road to Cape Vidal goes through the Greater St. Lucia Wetlands Park where game viewing is very productive. Rhino, Buffalo and a wide variety of game and birds are often seen en route to Cape Vidal. Cape Vidal is also home to a large population of Samango monkeys which are on the Red Data List of endangered species.

 

LAKE ST. LUCIA

This is Africa's largest saltwater system, +- 70km in length, home to +- 800 Hippo and +- 2000 Nile Crocodiles. It is fed by 4 major rivers, yet remains only 1.5m deep (average), making it ideal for water birds. Lake St Lucia and the surrounding are is one of the best birdwatching areas in Africa with 525 bird species occuring in this corner of South Africa. St Lucia is also becoming one of the best safari destinations in Africa, with no other area or country offering such a diversity in terrestrial and marine wildlife.

 

SODWANA BAY

One of the world's most renowned scuba diving locations. Sodwana also offers world class snorkeling and pristine beaches with accommodation ranging from campsites and chalets to luxury lodges. Scuba diving destinations from Sodwana Bay include 2 Mile, 5 Mile and 9 Mile reefs. Sodwana Bay scuba diving is famous for the crystal clear waters, vast coral reefs, concentration of life and generally one of the best holiday destinations in Africa.

LAKE SIBAYA

Lake Sibaya is a totally isolated fresh water lake with crystal clean turquoise water. It is unique in that it used to be connected to the ocean, subsequently Sibaya has numerous endemic fish species which have adapted to the change from salt water to fresh water. There is a very small population of hippos and crocodiles occurring here. Lake Sibaya is only accessible by 4x4 vehicles.

 

MABIBI, LALA NEK,ROCKTAIL BAY,BLACK ROCK,DOG POINT

All of these locations are within the Maputaland Turtle Sanctuary. They are pristine bays, protected by sandstone reefs offering beautiful snorkeling and swimming as the WATER is CRYSTAL CLEAN year round. These areas are only accessible by 4x4 vehicles.

 

BHANGA NEK

Also within the Maputaland Turtle Sanctuary, our destination for the TURTLE WALKS. This spot also offers beautiful snorkeling and we have often seen marine turtles whilst snorkeling. The WATER here is CRYSTAL CLEAN year round. Bhanga Nek accommodation includes camping and rustic bush camps.

 

KOSI BAY

This is the name of a beautiful salt water lake system. The surrounding area of Kosi lake is sandy for miles on end, no mud at all, and only has one small river feeding it. This has resulted in a YEAR ROUND CRYSTAL CLEAN system, home to numerous fish species. It is here that the traditional fish traps, kraals, are located. These are tended to by the local communities.

 

TEMBE ELEPHANT RESERVE

Tembe was established with the intention of protecting an existing elephant population, it is home to some of Africa's OLDEST and LARGEST elephants. Huge tuskers roam this park! Thembe is also a Big 5 park, only accessible by 4x4 vehicles, making it perfect for animal enthusiasts wanting to get off the beaten track during their wildlife holiday or safari in Africa.

 

JOZINI DAM

Jozini dam is a man made dam which touches the Swaziland border. Jozini is situated at the foot of the Lebombo Mountain range and is an incredibly beautiful and scenic dam. There are tigerfish in Jozini, and it is one of the few places in SA where one can catch tigerfish. Jozini dam is the newest major dam to be constructed in South Africa, and the little town of Jozini was also only established when Jozini town was build. Jozini is 2 hours drive from St Lucia.
