has spacious, shady camping sites with electricity plug points
and clean ablution facilities and is situated within a world heritage
Site - The iSimangaliso Wetlands Park.
Cape Vidal is the
perfect camping destination, with endless golden beaches,
warm water and good fishing all year round. The Cape Vidal camping
site is one of the most popular camping sites in South
Africa because of the variety and beauty of the areas surrounding
Cape Vidal, warm ocean water and many activities in the
nearby town of St. Lucia.
To get to the Cape Vidal Camping
site, drive north from St Lucia, enter the official
entrance gate at the St Lucia Crocodile Centre and travel north for
37km until you reach Cape Vidal. You will be driving through
an area with abundant wildlife, so go slow. The speed limit is 60km/h.

The Cape Vidal camping site
is set in the dune forest and is situated 200m from the beach. The Cape
Vidal camping site is safe with good clean facilities and is
the perfect destination for a family camping trip or a
fishing holiday to Cape Vidal. There are only 50
camping sites in the Cape Vidal camping site,
so early booking is essential.
The Cape Vidal camping site
is 37km north of the town of St Lucia and lies within
the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park, previously know as the St Lucia
Wetlands Park. The Cape Vidal camping site is
fenced from large animals, but small animals such as mongoose and monkeys
are present. All food has to be sucured in the Cape Vidal camping
site.

At the entrance to the Cape
Vidal camping site, there is a small shop that sells basic supplies,
beer, wood and charcoal, but all other supplies can be purchased at
St Lucia.

camping at Cape Vidal
Using the Cape Vidal camping
site as a base, you can explore the entire southern section
of the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park. Activities in and around Cape
Vidal include snorkeling inside of the reef at Cape Vidal,
rock and surf fishing, deep sea fishing, trails in the dune forest.
Other Places of interest to visit while you are staying at the Cape
Vidal camping site include Mission Rocks, Hluhluwe-iMfolozi
Park, Mkuze Game Reserve, Jozini Dam and Sodwana Bay.
