This is a scuba diving safari designed for travelers who want the best of Southern Africa’s ocean and bush in one trip: vibrant coral reefs, turtles, dolphins and seasonal sightings (including whale sharks in the right conditions), plus classic Big 5 and general game viewing in KwaZulu-Natal’s iconic reserves.
Mornings can start with clear-water reef time, a boat launch, or a shore-based plan depending on sea and weather. Later you shift gears into the bush: open-vehicle game drives, slow wildlife roads, and the kind of afternoon light that makes sightings (and photos) unforgettable. Many of the images on our site were taken while out on safari or on ocean days like these.
Because the ocean is never “one-size-fits-all”, we plan realistically around conditions — the goal is not to force a schedule, but to maximize your chances of great visibility, safe water time, and rewarding safari drives across the week.

KZN in South Africa is one of the few regions where a traveler can experience clear-water reef time and classic safari landscapes within the same holiday. Depending on conditions and routing, you can spend a morning on the ocean — reefs, rays, turtles and seasonal sightings — and then shift into the bush later for game drives that can include elephants, rhino, lions, giraffe, buffalo, leopard and much more. Parks we visit include the Hluhluwe iMfolozi Park, Mkuze Game Reserve, Tembe Elephant Park and the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park.
