Join us for week ends or school holidays, parents enjoy a relaxing week end in St Lucia while the children join the St Lucia Surfing School for surfing lessons and general water and ocean skills training including basic lifesaving techniques, snorkeling, free diving and coastal survival techniques.

Out of the water, the surfing school transforms into a bush school, where children have the opportunity to participate in bush trails, bush craft skills training and basic survival training. Professional bush guides introduce the children to the magic of the subtropical forests and savannas of the iSimangaliso Wetlands Park.

In the evenings, the surfing school turns into an astronomy school, where we take advantage of our dark skies and spend time under the stars, explaining more about cosmology and astronomy and teaching the students about the major stars, planets and constellations.

Surfing School Week End Trips - St Lucia SA and Cape Vidal

St Lucia is situated 210km north of Durban as the crow flies and is 270km by road. The drive from Durban takes 2.5 hours, allowing you to leave Durban on a Friday afternoon and return on Sunday afternoon.

During week end trips, the surfing school uses the beach at Cape Vidal, a safe surfing area ideal for beginners, but with a great break in the backline for experienced surfers.

We arrange all accommodation for parents and for students. During the day, parents can watch in the morning surfing classes at Cape Vidal, take a boat cruise on the St Lucia estuary or simply relax on the beach.

A combination of surfing school, bush academy and life changing paradise getaway. Students join us for a week in the wilderness, traveling along 4x4 routes and staying overnight in rustic bush camps, experiencing unknown surfing spots, nights around the campfire and a week of 'back to basics'.

Days consist of surfing classes at some of the most beautiful beaches in South Africa, surfing, snorkeling, free diving and hiking, all along the pristine beaches of Maputaland. Places we visit include Black Rock, Dog Point, Castle Rock, Bhanga Nek and Kosi Bay.

Each Get on Top camp includes 5 full days of activities in and around St Lucia and 6-nights full board in our home-from-home accommodation in the heart of St Lucia town.

Surfing Camp Day 3

        Early Breakfast
        Trip to Cape Vidal, surfing, snorkeling, coastal survival skills.

        Night drive to search for nocturnal animals including bushbabies and leopard.
