Mamoli Beach Camp & Beach
Houses
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Southern
Mozambique, Mamoli Beach Camp
offers a tranquil retreat just 1 km north of Ponta Mamoli
Point and the renowned White Pearl Resort. Located 23km
from the Kosi Bay border post, the Mamoli Beach Camp beach
houses and camping sites provide the perfect escape from
the busy crowds of Ponta do Ouro and Ponta
Malongane.
Our camp is all about embracing nature. While we don’t
have a swimming pool or restaurant, the serene
surroundings and breathtaking views make up for it. The
closest restaurants are 8 km away in Ponta
Malongane, about a 35-40 minute scenic drive on
sand roads. For wildlife enthusiasts, the Maputo
Special Reserve is just a short drive to the
north and perfect for a day trip.

Reaching Mamoli Beach Camp is
an adventure on its own! The journey starts with 14 km of
new tar road beyond the border, followed by a sandy section,
and a 13 km stretch of rugged, broken tar with sandy
patches. The final 3 km to the campsite is through soft
sand, but we also offer an alternate dry route for rainy
conditions. A 4x4 or a vehicle with diff-lock or all-wheel
drive is essential.

Campsite Info
The Mamoli Beach
Camp's campsite is situated in the dune forest +-150m
from the beach, 1km north of Ponta Mamoli.
Campsites
- Campsites are semi-private, well screened off but
not isolated.
- All campsites are mostly shady, but there are
places for the charging of solar panels.
- A wash-up area at each campsite, with cold
running water.
- Plug points are available at each campsite, not
for any appliance with an element.
- No braai facilities, please take your own braai
equipment.
- Power to campsites may be off from 10pm to 7am
depending on weather and power consumption.
Ablutions & Water
- Strictly no dogs or other pets are allowed in the
campsite.
- Nearby ablution facilities consist of 10
individual bathrooms with hot water showers and flush
toilets.
- The borehole water in the ablution blocks and at
the campsites is not for drinking as it is not
purified and is stained with tannins from the plants
in the wetlands and with iron and other minerals in
the sand.
Although we do not allow guests to run generators in the
campsite, please expect us to use ours as it is a backup to
our solar system. When usage of our electricity is high, we
use our generator to supplement the power. We do so at times
when guests are most likely out of camp.
When it is cloudy and rainy, we run our generator as much as
we need to, to keep the electricity on.

Ponta Mamoli and Mamoli Beach
Wildlife
The Mamoli Beach Camp campsites and beach houses are
set in pristine sub-tropical dune forest, so you’ll be
sharing the area with a variety of small and big creatures
like bushbuck, red duiker, small wild cat, mongoose, the
rare and endangered Thongaland Red Squirrel, many birds
(including a resident Fish Eagle that hunts along the
shoreline), owls, bushbabies, Vervet monkeys and rare
Samango monkeys. It goes without saying that all foodstuff
must be very securely locked away.
The Mamoli Beach Camp has a small environmental
footprint possible, and guests are asked to take the
wellbeing of the environment into consideration at all
times.
Fishing and other Activities
- Mamoli Beach offers rock and surf fishing (beach
and sections of rocks).
- Offshore kayak and spear fishing is permitted for
game fish, strictly no bottom-fishing applying to
both. Permits required - available from Ponta Do
Ouro.

- Deep sea angling is allowed and there is a launch
site nearby for ski boats and jet skis. Permits
are required - available from Ponta Do Ouro.
- Other activities are general beaching, swimming
and snorkelling on our home-beach, and scuba diving in
world-renowned spots close by, easily arranged.
- This locality also offers us the unique
opportunity of swimming with wild dolphins, also
easily arranged with the operators not far away.
- Mamoli Beach is a known sea turtle nesting site.
