Vic's Camp is situated at Bhanga Nek, on a hill and overlooks the Kosi Bay Lake system and also has a sea view. The camp consists of 5 rondavels and 2 other units sleeping 4 people in each. The kitchen has a gas stove, freezer, table, chairs, and limited cutlery and crockery. The kitchen and freezer are not available for people staying in the camping site. The ablution facilities have hot water showers and flush toilets.

Vic's Camp is serviced, with rooms and the kitchen being cleaned daily. There is a generator that runs from 6pm to 10pm and the camp and camping site have water. Bring your own drinking water.

Little paradise is set close to the Kosi Bay Lake system, approximately 2.5km from the beach and has large spacious camping areas and 1 small house with 2 bedrooms, toilet and shower. The ablution blocks have hot water, heated by wood fires maintained by the camping site staff.

The camping sites are quiet and shady with ablution facilities which are clean and comfortable. The camping sites and small chalet house have no electricity and one needs to bring along drinking water and all other supplies.

Bhanga Nek Accommodation

Bhanga Nek Camps are ideally situated for access to the Bhanga Nek beach and to the Kosi Bay lake, offering easy access and a variety of activities including Rock and Surf angling, fishing in the Kosi Bay lakes, boat cruises, hiking trails and turtle tours. Bhanga Nek camps and campsites are the ideal base from which to explore the Bhanga Nek area. Black Rock and Dog Point are also accessible from the Bhanga Nek camp and the Bhanga Nek campsite.

The Bhanga Nek area is safe, with no security problems with friendly, helpful local residents who own the Bhanga Nek camping sites and accommodation establishments. The weather at Bhanga Nek is good all year round with hot summers and mild winters, warm sea water and a tropical atmosphere. The area is accessible only by 4x4, which keeps away the crowds, allowing you to enjoy your holiday in peace.

Bhanga Nek Campsites & accommodation

The Bhanga Nek camps are all community owned and run as a community development initiative in the Bhanga Nek Area. All the Bhanga Nek camps are situated at the southern tip of the Kosi lake System, in an area with minimal development. Although the accommodation is rustic, the accommodation is clean and there are hot water showers as well as a fridges and freezers in some of the camps...not to mention the breathtaking views from most of the Bhanga Nek Camps. The Bhanga Nek Camps are small and have accommodation in small rondavels and a campsites for camping with tents, but no caravans as access for caravans is not possible due to the condition of the sandy tracks, the only access to Bhanga Nek.

Bhanga Nek is not about luxury accommodation, but about a beautiful peaceful setting in paradise.

Bhanga Nek is the perfect base for a Kosi Bay fishing holiday because of the easy access to the Kosi Bay Lake system, Bhanga Nek beach and rocky shore, Black Rock and Rocktail Bay. If you are looking for a variety of fishing spots and techniques, you will find that while fishing Kosi Bay and Bhanga Nek.

The Kosi Bay Lakes are fantastic for Kingfish, Grunter, Rock Salmon and bream, while off the Beach at Bhanga Nek one can catch a huge variety of species including Kingfish, sharks, Lantern fish, Snapper and Rock Cod.

Directions to Bhanga Nek

Bhanga Nek is situated 12 km south of the Kosi Bay estuary mouth at the southern shore of the Kosi Bay Lake System. The Bhanga Nek area is inaccessible and one needs a 4x4 to get to Kosi Mouth and Bhanga Nek. Access to Black Rock, Rocktail Bay, Island Rock and Lala Nek from Bhanga Nek is also by 4x4 only. Bhanga Nek is as unspoilt as it is because the road is so bad.

Directions to Bhanga Nek

To get to the Bhanga Nek accommodation establishments, from KwaNgwanase (eManguze), take the road to the police station (D1843). Left onto a red dirt road. Drive 9.8 Km until you see a few signs on the left. One says 'ICE'. Turn left there onto the small sand track to Bhanga Nek. Cross the steel bridge over the Siyadla River (the bridge has now been repaired). After the bridge, keep left and then keep going north, staying on the track which is most well used. After an hour. you will get to Bhanga Nek. You will know when you have arrived in Bhanga Nek when you get to the Bhanga Nek school on the left. Keep going on the main track to get to the Bhanga Nek camps, Bhanga Nek camping sites and the Bhanga Nek Beach. If you get lost, call me on 082 2575 612 24hrs.
